Yuqing Cai M.S.

M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling

Yuqing is a compassionate and empathic clinician who helps clients achieve personal goals, positive change, and successful transitions between developmental life stages. He specializes in working with children, adolescents and young adults, helping them explore their identities and environment, learning emotional and behavioral management, and developing independent problem-solving skills.

He is skilled in assistance with identity exploration, alleviating symptoms from depression and anxiety, as well as reducing the occurrence of suicidal ideations, or non-suicidal self-harming tendencies caused by past traumatic events. Additionally, Yuqing advocates for clients that are experiencing cultural or personal discrimination, including clients who identify as members of the LGBTQ community, the BIPOC community, as well as disabled clients that seek additional assistance to meet their daily needs. For clients who are experiencing difficult family/environmental circumstances that are hard to verbalize, Yuqing is trained in Art & Expressive Therapy and Play Therapy to help the clients express the details of past events without having to talk about them directly.

“I believe that each individual has an innate ability to rationally analyze themselves, assess their current situation and formulate solutions independently. Thus, it is my greatest passion to help clients to build, or regain the skills necessary to retake control of their lives.”

*Yuqing offers sessions in Mandarin and English.
