Jackie Chavez LMFT
Licensed Individual, Couple & Family Therapist
Seeing clients in Illinois, virtual sessions only.
Hi, I’m really glad you’re here.
I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over five years of experience, and I’ve been part of the Artesian Collaborative community for several years. I work with individuals, couples, and families who may be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply ready for something to feel different.
As a first-generation Mexican American, I value the role that culture, family, and personal experiences play in shaping who we are. I take an integrative, relationship-centered approach to therapy, which means I focus on getting to know you first—your story, your values, and what matters most to you—while building a space that feels safe, supportive, and genuine.
I believe therapy is a mix of meaningful work and real human connection. There’s room for reflection, honesty, growth, and yes, even laughter along the way. My approach is grounded in strengths-based, attachment-focused, and emotionally focused work, and I’m trained in Gottman Method Levels 1 and 2 to support couples in strengthening communication and connection.
I work with clients navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, chronic health issues, trauma, and relationship challenges of all kinds—romantic, family, or friendships. We move at your pace, working together toward changes that feel realistic and lasting.
Outside of the therapy room, I really value taking care of myself in simple ways. I enjoy eating foods that make me feel good, spending time with my dog Stella, getting pulled into a good romantic novel or psychological thriller, and winding down with a restful night’s sleep!
Whether you’re taking the first step or continuing a journey you’ve already started, I’d be honored to work alongside you in this process.
