The Community Table: Trust & Paranoia
Thu, Jul 16
|via Zoom
At some point, many of us swing between two extremes—trusting too quickly or not at all. And both come at a cost: disconnection, second-guessing, and missed opportunities for real connection. At this month’s Community Table, we’re shifting the question. Come join us.

About the event
Trust is often framed as a simple choice: you either have it or you don’t. But most of us know it’s not that clean.
This month at The Community Table, we’re exploring the tension between trust and paranoia—and what they’re both trying to protect. Because staying guarded doesn’t always keep us safe. And trusting more doesn’t always mean we’re healthy.
Together, we’ll unpack how we make decisions about safety—often before we’re even aware of it. We’ll explore how our history, environment, culture, and relationships shape whether we open up, shut down, or stay somewhere in between.
You’ll leave with practical ways to:
Recognize how your body signals safety (or threat)
Understand when caution is protective—and when it’s limiting
